拦河坝

[dam across a river] 拦断河道、阻挡河水的建筑物。主要工程有土方开挖、清淤、河道铺底、堤坝、石砌护坡、压顶、支流清淤等。通化县修筑柴石拦河坝已有130多年历史。从清咸丰十年（1860年）开始试种水稻，就建了几处自流引水的柴石坝。这种古老式的拦河坝，一直延续到现在。随着水田面积的扩大，拦河坝也逐渐增多，到1985年，全县拦河坝已达到144处。这种柴石坝，质量差、不坚固，经不起洪水的冲击，基本是年年坏、年年修。从1981年起，一些经济条件好的村开始修筑浆砌石拦河坝。到1985年，全县共有浆砌石坝3座，灌溉面积4000亩。
